"THE BABYHOUSE" 5 YEARS!

The Babyhouse is marking its fifth anniversary today, exactly five years after its founding on the International Day of the Rights of the Child. On this day, the first Babyhouse opened in Dordrecht. Last year, it was Rotterdam Rijnmond's turn. In December of this year, renovations to the former reading room next to the Lodewijkskerk will be completed for the opening of the third Babyhouse. This unique care concept has already prevented many unnecessary out-of-home placements.

Symposium

To celebrate this milestone, a grand symposium will take place on March 29, 2019, at Corpus in Oegstgeest. The event will feature musical interludes, opportunities to meet and connect, and a festive drink and snack. Manon de Lange, owner of and rental agent at The Hague Real Estate Services, has been working hard over the past year to raise as much money as possible for this wonderful foundation. She will be present at this fantastic day.

The Babyhouse Prevents Unnecessary Out-of-Home Placements

The Stichting Het Babyhuis was founded in late 2013 in a beautiful building on Brouwersgracht 211 in Dordrecht. It offers temporary accommodation and support for mothers who need assistance in caring for their babies for a certain period. The Babyhouse provides living space, treatment, and guidance for high-risk pregnant women and those who have recently given birth. It currently operates in locations across Leiden, the Rotterdam Rijnmond region, and Dordrecht, offering 26 mother-child units to guide mothers and their children toward independence in three phases.
